I love summer. But with the dryness and the heat... It can also be really scary. Often during summer smoke can be seen in the distance. Thankfully the firefighters are friggen amazing and so often manage to get it under control before it does too much damage. But two days ago, we had to be evacuated as fire was literally across the road from our house. I don't know what else to say other than to say that firefighters and volunteers and everyone... they are all so amazing. And the red and blue lights silently through the window all through that night as a reminder that they were keeping watch, it was so comforting. We are so lucky to still

To all those who have been touched by mental illness. Whether it is you yourself who are afflicted or it's someone you love. I am thinking of you today. I am thinking of you most days, but today I am writing about it in my journal here. I am no expert, having been on both sides of such illness,  I just wanted to share some of my own thoughts.
